Your life is one big habit you are not aware of.
You have over 60,000 thoughts a day.
Ninety percent of those thoughts are the same as you had the day before, and the day before and the day before.
Consider that you have the same routine when you get up in the morning, the same routine getting ready to go to a job you probably don’t like. The same routine at the job you now know you definitely don’t like. The same routine in the evening and the same routine before you go to bed.
Then you wake up the next day to do it all over again.
Just think back at how long have you been repeating this life style you don’t like. Or the even bigger question is…
How long are you going to keep repeating it?
As Dr. Joe Dispenza put it…
You are repeating the same thoughts, the same choices, the same actions and behaviors, the same experiences and the same feelings. These are all keeping you in the same reality. Your yesterday becomes your tomorrow so in truth, your past is your future.
This causes your biology to stay the same. Your brain and body don’t change because you are creating the same brain chemistry which activates the same brain circuits keeping you in a reality you do not want to be in. You have literally created a neural network that is working automatically, without you knowing it, to keep you in this unwanted reality.
I can relate. I was stuck in the same routine. I was living the same life every day over and over again. And it was not fun. I wanted to change. But every time I saw something that might help I would avoid it or reason I would do it later. A strong feeling would well up inside of me and keep me from doing the thing I knew I needed to do. I knew I needed to do it. I even wanted to do it. But I just couldn’t make myself do it.
What was actually happening is change can cause your body to go into a state of chemical imbalance. This can actually be very uncomfortable. By going back to my original routine I was putting my body back into balance and back into comfort. I was unable to handle the temporary discomfort for the long term benefit. I was trapped.
Or at least I thought I was until I learned that there are some very simple things that you can do to un-trap yourself. Everyone holds the key. Most just don’t know it or don’t believe the key will work.
You must observe and pay attention to those emotions that you’ve memorized and that you live by on a daily basis and decide if living by those emotions over and over again is loving to you. Most people try to create a new personal reality as the same old personality and it doesn’t work. In order to change your life, you have to literally become someone else. – Dr. Dispenza
SIMPLE CHANGE: Think one thing that you usually do the same every day and today do it differently. Or don’t do it at all. Consider how much of your past life you can barely remember. Try to revive an old memory. Try and think of something you have forgotten about.

Walter “Walt” Whitman was an American poet, essayist, and journalist.
He was born May 31, 1819 in West Hills, New York.
His works include:
Walt Whitman has been considered by many to be one of the most enlightened individuals who ever lived.
Canadian psychiatrist Richard M. Bucke published Cosmic Consciousness: A Study in the Evolution of the Human Mind regarded Walt Whitman as the “highest instance of Cosmic Consciousness” (above the Buddha and Jesus) partly because he was able to live a normal life among others and not become other worldly or detached.
To Whitman the world was a beautiful, incredible, fascinating place.
According to Bucke ,”His favorite occupation seemed to be strolling outdoors by himself, looking at the grass, the trees, the flowers, the vistas of light, the varying aspects of the sky, and listening to the birds, the crickets, the tree frogs, and all the hundreds of natural sounds. It was evident that these things gave him a pleasure far beyond what they give ordinary people.”
Divine am I inside and out, and I make holy water whatever I touch.
I see something of God each hour of the twenty-four, and each moment then,
In the faces of the men and women I see God, and in my own face in the glass.
– Walt Whitman, Song of Myself
I have heard what the talkers were talking the talk of the beginning and the end,
But I do not talk of beginning or end.
There was never any more inception than there is now,
Nor any more youth or age than there is now;
And will never be any more perfection than there is now,
Nor any more heaven or hell than there is now.
– Walt Whitman
Life doesn’t give You the people you want, It gives you The people you need: To love you, To hate you, To make you, To break you, And to make you the person you Were meant to be.
– Walt Whitman
Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.
– Walt Whitman
Happiness, not in another place but this place…not for another hour, but this hour.
– Walt Whitman
The earth is rude, silent, incomprehensible at first; Be not discouraged – keep on – there are divine things, well envelop’d; I swear to you there are divine things more beautiful than words can tell.
– Walt Whitman
Either define the moment or the moment will define you.
– Walt Whitman
Re-examine all that you have been told… dismiss that which insults your soul.

This is hard to write about.
I guess a part of me is afraid it will bring back the emotions in their full intensity.
I do not want to go through that again.
I would never wish that on anyone.
It is around 3:00 AM and I am laying in my bed. It is still dark outside. Thank goodness. I have more time. I am fine. Just a little nervous. I am in control. Maybe, just maybe it won’t happen again.
My cat is laying at the foot of my bed. I can hear her purring. Everything is fine. I can get some more sleep. But if I sleep it will come sooner. But I have to sleep.
I do sleep.
It is a little after 5:00 AM. I open my eyes and can see the first rays of the day’s sun starting to spill through the window. I can hear the morning birds chirping.
Oh no I think. It’s time again. I can’t do this again.
I tell myself to be calm. Stay calm. There is nothing to worry about. It’s not happening yet.
Concentrate on your breathing. Just breathe slowly in and slowly out. Long deep breaths in through your nose. Hold it. Release out through your mouth. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Okay I still feel a little calm. Maybe I can fall back asleep and get another hour or so rest.
I roll over on my side. Still aware of my breathing.
A few minutes pass. And then…
It’s back!
I can feel it again. It’s not that strong yet. But I can feel it.
No please I can’t do this again. Breathe slowly.
I try but my breathing becomes very quick and shallow.
Now I can feel it getting stronger. It is growing in me. No! Please No! Stop!
I begin to sweat. My heart is now racing. Soon my hair is soaked.
Not again! Not again! Not again!
I am in a state of sheer terror. Something really bad is going to happen. But I don’t know what it is.
My body hurts. I can’t think. I am trembling. I can’t breathe.
This can’t go on.
Am I losing my mind?
I can’t see right. Something is wrong with my sight. Am I going blind? I don’t want to be blind. Please don’t let me go blind.
Am I dying?
Perhaps that would be best. This can’t go on. I can’t live like this.
No! Never think like that! You will live even if you have to spend the rest of your life like this.
But what do I do?
I don’t know what to do.
I find myself in a fetal position in the corner of my bed crying. I don’t know what to do! I don’t know what to do. Repeating over and over, I don’t know what to do.
I have to face the day and I can’t. I can’t go through another day like I did yesterday. It is sheer terror. But if I stay in bed it is sheer terror too.
I feel like I’m going to throw up.
There is no escape.
What is going to happen? It’s not going to be good. It is going to be really bad. My life as I have known it is over.
It is going to be terrible. Just let it happen. Just get it over with.
No don’t let it happen. I won’t be able to handle it.
I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to do.
Somebody please help me. Please. I need help.
Nothing is helping. No one is helping.
There is nothing anyone can do to help me.
The feeling starts to subside. I can feel myself breathing a little better. I can feel myself gaining a little more control.
The fear is still there. I can still feel the nervousness in every cell in my body. I still didn’t know why. But at least I don’t feel like I am losing my mind or about to die.
At least enjoy the little tiny release you have been given while it lasts.
I get up and walk into the kitchen and get a glass of water. My hair is still soaked with sweat.
I sit down at the kitchen table and take a few sips of the water. It tastes good. My breathing is still very shallow. I lower my head and rest it in my arms on the table. I am tired. Very tired. But oh so nervous and afraid. Rest is impossible.
And then…
Oh no! No!
It’s building again.
My breathing and heart are racing again.
It’s getting stronger again. It is growing in me again. No! Please No! Stop!
I am sweating again.
Not again! Not again! Not again!
And that is what I had to endure over and over again every day for about six months.
But here is the thing. And this may sound utterly crazy but I am glad I went through it.
Getting through that lowest point in my life gave me a peace of mind I never knew existed.
Making it through that let me know there was nothing I couldn’t handle.
Many of the next posts will talk about how I overcame my anxiety and the lessons it taught me.

IT IS only by a change of consciousness, by actually changing your concept of yourself, that you can “build more stately mansions” – the manifestations of higher and higher concepts.
(By manifesting is meant experiencing the results of these concepts in your world.)
It is of vital importance to understand clearly just what consciousness is.
The reason lies in the fact that consciousness is the one and only reality, it is the first and only cause-substance of the phenomena of life.
Nothing has existence for man save through the consciousness he has of it.
Therefore, it is to consciousness you must turn, for it is the only foundation on which the phenomena of life can be explained.
If we accept the idea of a first cause, it would follow that the evolution of that cause could never result in anything foreign to itself. That is, if the first cause-substance is light, all its evolutions, fruits and manifestations would remain light.
The first cause-substance being consciousness, all its evolutions, fruits and phenomena must remain consciousness.
All that could be observed would be a higher or lower form or variation of the same thing. In other words, if your consciousness is the only reality, it must also be the only substance.
Consequently, what appears to you as circumstances, conditions and even material objects is really only the product of your own consciousness.
Nature, then, as a thing or a complex of things external to your mind, must be rejected.
You and your environment cannot be regarded as existing separately. You and your world are one.
Therefore, you must turn from the objective appearance of things to the subjective center of things, your consciousness, if you truly desire to know the cause of the phenomena of life, and how to use this knowledge to realize your fondest dreams.
In the midst of the apparent contradictions, antagonisms and contrasts of your life, there is only one principle at work, only your consciousness operating.
Difference does not consist in variety of substance, but in variety of arrangement of the same cause-substance, your consciousness.
The world moves with motiveless necessity. By this is meant that it has no motive of its own, but is under the necessity of manifesting your concept, the arrangement of your mind, and your mind is always arranged in the image of all you believe and consent to as true.
The rich man, poor man, beggar man or thief are not different minds, but different arrangements of the same mind, in the same sense that a piece of steel, when magnetized, differs not in substance from its demagnetized state, but in the arrangement and order of its molecules. A single electron revolving in a specified orbit constitutes the unit of magnetism. When a piece of steel or anything else is demagnetized, the revolving electrons have not stopped. Therefore, the magnetism has not gone out of existence. There is only a rearrangement of the particles, so that they produce no outside or perceptible effect. When particles are arranged at random, mixed up in all directions, the substance is said to be demagnetized; but when particles are marshaled in ranks so that a number of them face in one direction, the substance is a magnet. Magnetism is not generated; it is displayed.
Health, wealth, beauty and genius are not created; they are only manifested by the arrangement of your mind, that is, by your concept of yourself [and your concept of yourself is all that you accept and consent to as true. What you consent to can only be discovered by an uncritical observation of your reactions to life. Your reactions reveal where you live psychologically; and where you live psychologically determines how you live here in the outer visible world].
The importance of this in your daily life should be immediately apparent.
The basic nature of the primal cause is consciousness.
Therefore, the ultimate substance of all things is consciousness.

When I first met him I didn’t have a clue where he came from. Although now I have a little better idea. But the first time I met him he just showed up. They say when the pupil is ready the teacher will appear. For me nothing could be truer. I just happened to walk past my front door and there he was just staring into the house, startling to say the least.
“Can I help you?” I asked walking towards the door.
“That’s not what I’m here for,” he replied.
“What are you here for?” I asked.
“Let me in,” he ordered.
So that is exactly what I did. I opened the door and let him in.
I know that sounds like a strange thing to do. Especially since I didn’t even have a clue who he was. But the strange thing was something in me knew it was going to be okay to let him in. Somehow I knew that not only should I let him in but that I needed to let him in.
Why I had that feeling is hard to describe. I mean he didn’t look menacing or to be any threat I couldn’t handle.
He was a thin, older gentleman. He had scraggly white hair but a well kept beard. He wore brown pants and a white dress shirt both of which looked about two sizes too big.
When he had asked me to let him in there was a feeling of not wanting to miss out on something. Which I knew was going happen if I didn’t let him in.
“Really?” he said as he walked through the door into my house.
“Really what?” I questioned not knowing what he was talking about.
“You are just going to let a complete stranger into your house just because he tells you to? He doesn’t even introduce himself or tell you why he’s there. He just says let me in and you do?”
I didn’t know what to say. He was right. It wasn’t too bright. But like I said, I just knew…
“Let me ask you something?” he continued. “When you are driving, and you look in the side view mirror of your car, does it say ‘Warning – Objects in mirror are dumber than they appear?’”
He just insulted me, I think, but I couldn’t help but smile.
Again, I asked, “Can I help you?”
“No,” he answered, “But I can help you.”
“How?” I wondered. At this point things were way beyond confusing.
“Are you struggling?” he asked me with a look of sympathy I could now see in his face as his eyes stared straight into mine. He just kept staring right at me. It was awkward.
“With what?” I wasn’t sure what he was referring to.
“Man, you really did fall out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down,” he replied.
Now I was kind of starting to get a little annoyed. I had no clue what was happening.
“I don’t understand,” I started. “I don’t…”
“Stop using the word don’t,” he interrupted. “Life! Are you struggling with life?”
“Aren’t we all?” I answered. At least now our conversation seemed to be starting to go in some direction although I wasn’t sure where. “I mean to some degree, we all have our daily struggles. We all have our problems to overcome. Some may have more or bigger problems than others.”
“Not me,” he said.
“Not you what?”
“I don’t have any problems.”
“Now who’s being stupid?” I said. We all know that was just not possible. And why was I just standing here having a conversation with this guy?
“What if I said I was here to take away your struggle?” he asked.
“To be honest,” I answered, “My life hasn’t really been that bad. I mean, compared to what I’ve seen happing to others my life has been pretty good so far. I can’t complain, because I know so many more have had it far worse.”
“And that is why I am here for you,” he continued.
“That makes no sense,” I told him.
“It makes perfect sense. You are ready.”
“Ready for what?”
“You are ready to see that this world is a magical place. I am here to show you just how incredible this world can be.”
Great I thought. I just let an inspirational guru wannabe into my house. But then again, that feeling hit me. I was glad he was here.
“Let’s talk about your brain,” he said. “Which as far as I can tell right now, if brains were dynamite, you wouldn’t have enough to blow your nose.” He smiled.
I smiled again and just let him continue.
“For the most part your brain was wired when you were a child,” he said. “You may think you have come to conclusions on your own, but your brain has been conditioned to see the world in such a way to support conclusions that were given to you by your parents and society when you were very young. Your child hood has limited how you see the world.”
“How,” I asked a little curious.
“Your brain is bombarded with millions of bits of data every day. To keep you from going insane your brain takes in the data that coincides with your beliefs and discards the data that does not. You do this subconsciously. Most of the time you are unaware. This is why the world seems to conform to what you believe and what you believe was determined when you were a child.”
“Is that a bad thing,” I asked.
“About as bad as it gets if you don’t do something about it,” he told me.
“Do what?”
“Re-wire your brain.”
“Why would I want to re-wire my brain?” I asked. “How do you even do that?”
“We will get to that,” he assured. “First, understand that you don’t know anything. Your brain is in no way capable of being able to comprehend the vastness and the complexity of the universe.”
“Can you?” I asked him.
“No way, but I understand more than most. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that others can’t know what I know. It’s just that they don’t think they can or they don’t try or they just don’t believe it.”
“Why?”
“Because they are idiots.”
That kind of raised an eyebrow.
“Now don’t get me wrong,” he continued. “Everyone is a genius. But almost everyone does not know it. Therefore they are dumb. They are ignorant idiots.”
“Aren’t dumb and idiots harsh words?” I questioned.
“No.” he said.
“So you are calling me an idiot?”
“Big time.”
I graduated third in my high school class, magna cum laude in college. I would hardly say that defines an idiot.”
“Now I know you are an idiot,” he snapped back. “Wow, third in your class. Wow, man cum loudly. All that shows is you can memorize a few facts and repeat them on a piece of paper or computer screen. Yes, you are an idiot. But you are also a genius.”
“That makes no sense,” I objected.
“It makes perfect sense,” he said and he actually tapped me lightly on the forehead three times with his finger.
“Why are you doing that?” I responded.
“You’ll see. You will see.”
“See what?”
“Where do you live?” he asked me.
“Now who’s being dumb,” I replied. “Why are you asking that question? You’re in my house.”
“No!” he practically yelled. I almost took a step backwards.
He again tapped my head three times.
“Would you stop that?” That time my voice rose a little.
“That is where you live.” He actually tapped my head tree times again. This time I did take a step backwards.
“I live in my head?”
“Yes you live in your head.” A smile appeared on his face. “You live in your mind. And in your mind you have created your own world. It is a world completely different from the world of anyone else. Everyone’s world is different. Look out your door window.”
I walked to the door and looked out.
“Do you see the tree in your yard?” he asked.
“Of course I see the tree in my yard.”
“And so do I,” he continued. “But we do not see the same tree.”
“Of course we do,” I responded, “That’s the only tree in my yard.”
“But we don’t see it the same. Besides looking at it from different angles. We don’t see the same color green on the leaves. Your green may be brighter or darker than mine, a different shade. We are both noticing different details of the tree. For example can you see the Benzines behind some of the leaves?”
“What’s a Benzine?”
“Of course you can’t. Your brain has not been wired to see Benzines.”
“What’s a Benzine?” I asked again.
“What you can or cannot see was wired into your brain when you were young,” he continued completely ignoring me. “You had no control over that wiring. Yet it has determined almost everything about who you are and what you are doing at this very moment. And that is why you are an idiot.”
“I wish you would stop calling me an idiot,” I protested.
“Why?” he said. “Does it bother you?”
“Kind of.”
“It shouldn’t,” he explained. “Remember I said everyone lives in their own world inside their head. What they say and do is a reflection of what is going on in their world, not a reflection of you.”
“So I shouldn’t worry about what you call me?”
“Of course not. My world is just one of billions on this planet. What should one opinion out of a billion really mean to you?”
“Nothing. I don’t guess.”
“Right. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t listen to and learn from the opinions of others. Like you are doing with mine right now. They can be very helpful at times. But never, never take it personally.”
“I see,” I said. And I did. That made sense.
“But know this,” he started to add.
“What?”
“In my world you are a huge idiot.”
“Okay, let me ask you this,” I questioned. “If this big idiot and because of the way my brain was wired how do I rewire it?”
“Exactly!” he said. “Like I said earlier, you do need to rewire your brain and it is actually a very simple process.”
“Who is that?”
“Question everything.”
“Like what?”
“Did you no hear me?” he said, “I said question everything. Don’t leave anything for granted. Pretend you know nothing. And in your case that is not far from the truth. Act as if everything you believe in life is completely wrong. And you are going to find that is actually true. Not just for you but for everyone. Almost everyone is getting it wrong.”
“Including you,” I asked.
“Yes including me,” he answered.
“Then why am I even listening to you?”
“Because,” he replied. “I am not getting it nearly as wrong as you are.”
“Do I really have it that wrong?”
“Almost everyone thinks their way of seeing the world is the correct way. Image how different this world would be if everyone just understood they don’t have a clue. Nothing makes me madder than for a person to claim that what they believe is the ‘truth’. For someone to use that word about their own personal beliefs and say what others believe is wrong is the height of arrogance. The other day I happened to walk into a church by accident.”
“Oh no,” I thought. That could not have turned out well.

…but what we need to understand is our subconscious mind (which we are mostly unaware of) is making our decisions. Our conscious mind is just justifying a decision already made by the subconscious mind. We are actually fooling ourselves into believing our conscious mind has logically arrived at an answer. The subconscious mind does not even respond to logic. It only responds to emotion. It is very important we learn how to control our subconscious mind.
Most of our subconscious beliefs were formed when we were very young and we had little to no say in what we were told to believe. Most people carry those beliefs with them throughout their entire lives. They never question them. They are limiting themselves because they are shutting themselves off from amazing possibilities which do not fit their belief pattern. A little child has determined their fate.
We need to separate our beliefs from ourselves. Our beliefs can become so ingrained in us that they become a part of ourselves. Separating ourselves from our beliefs can become a very painful task, even though many of our beliefs are hurting us. They are keeping us from becoming what we want to be. The ironic thing is many times we don’t know what we believe. One moment we may think something is true the next we aren’t sure. So we have something that we are not even sure about that may or may not be keeping us from everything we want in life. Confusing isn’t it? I was confused too.
Change is often hard because it actually causes your body to go into a state of chemical imbalance. This feels uncomfortable. Most prefer to avoid the change and return the body to a state of balance and return to a comfortable feeling. They can’t get past the short term discomfort to gain the long term benefits.
The really cool thing is, because you have the ability to think of something in a different way you have the power to make it different. No matter what situation you are in if you can picture a different situation you can change.
Start by questioning everything. The majority of the word live their lives with a need to be told what to think. And yes, question what you reading right now. It is time for you to create your own belief patterns.
When you do you are going to find out a few things.
You are going to see this world really is a magical place. Things you once thought were impossible are going to become a reality.
It will be very comforting when you discover that this world is not ruled by random chance. That you are not just a statistic. You are the creator. You are in control.
You will then realize you are here to help break the pattern this world is trapped in. You are here to show this is not a world of scarcity and fear but a world of unending abundance and love.
Begin questioning right now.

Your brain fills in the missing pieces.
For this example we will use sound.
We can encounter many situations that distort the sounds we are listening too. Probably one of the most common is when having a conversation. Yet we can still perfectly understand what the person is saying. It is not that we are hearing them perfectly but our brain is substituting in the pieces we are missing. This is known as Phonemic Restoration. We think we are hearing their speech clearly but our brain is actually compensating for what we are not hearing. The brain does however need another sound to convert.

Now listen to the recording again after it has been chopped up.
Click here to listen to this recording
It becomes a lot harder to understand.
Now listen one more time after white noise has been added to the chopped up audio in place of the silence.
Click here to listen to this recording
You now hear every word again. It is important to understand the only thing that has been added to the recording is white noise. The originial audio is still chopped up and missing pieces. But your brain is filling in the missing pieces. You are hearing what is not there.
We can even take this a step farther. We can chop the video up into 25 millisecond pieces and then reverse the play of each chopped piece. But your brain will compensate and still let you hear it as it was suppose to be said.

A similar brain phenomenon is sinewave speech. Your brain can extract meaning from nothing but distorted sounds. You brain has circuits that respond to speech but doesn’t turn them on until it recognizes spoken language.
When you first listen to sinewave speech you can barely understand it. You may occassionaly make out a word or two. But when you hear the sinewave speech spoken normally and then go back and listen to the sinewave speech again, it sounds as clear as day to you. You wonder why you couldn’t hear it before and you can no longer hear it as the complete jumbled mess of sounds you heard earlier.
Listen to the samples below. First listen to the sinewave speech then after listening to the actual words go back and listen to the sinewave speech again.

There is only now. Past and future are an illusion created by our mind. Our mind keeps dwelling on the mistakes of the past and worrying about POSSIBLE problems in the future. Stay centered in the now. The more centered in the now we become the higher we vibrate and the harder it becomes for negative circumstances to enter.
Stay in the now. Ask ourselves what we really need at this moment. Not a day from now. Not an hour from now. Not even a few minutes from now. And I have to admit even with all my future worries, every time I ask that question, I really don’t need anything.
So why keep worrying? Troublesome thoughts entered my mind a few days ago. But then I asked myself, “What do I really need now?” And I must be honest and say nothing. Troublesome thoughts entered my mind yesterday. But I again asked myself, “What do I need right now?” Again I needed nothing. Troublesome thoughts entered my mind today. But again I need nothing. Just a few minutes ago the troublesome thoughts arise again. But I concentrate on the now and ask myself, “What do I really need at this moment?” Again the answer is NOTHING! So will there every come a time when the answer will not be nothing?
And it makes you wonder if we live in a constant now with no past or present. Then everything we could ever need has to be with us right NOW. Not on its way because that would imply a time frame. Everything has to be here now. It has to be that we just don’t see how to get it. Because it must be there. It has to be.
Isn’t it amazing how so many of the things we need arrive at just the opportune moment. Almost like magic or a miracle. But it can’t be a miracle if it is already there. It just must be something in us has let us see what we need.
It’s like we endure an unnecessary struggle. Fighting because we believe in scarcity. When right in front of our eyes is a huge pot of gold. Perhaps it is because we just have to come to a point where we say, “Enough is, Enough! I’m sick of it and I’m not going to play this pointless, useless, unnecessary game anymore.” And when the game ends the world is ours!
